About the Report

The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland and Community Legal Aid jointly commissioned The Center for Community Solutions to survey former clients about how civil legal aid impacted their lives.

The Center for Community Solutions surveyed more than 1,200 former clients across 13 counties in Northeast Ohio to find out what impact their civil legal aid experiences had on their lives, and the lives of their families, years after their cases closed.

Highlights & Focus Areas

Legal Aid’s assistance allows individuals and families to secure stability in a wide variety of different areas years after a court case concludes. Based on client feedback, The Center for Community Solutions divided Legal Aid’s impact into six categories: financial, family, health, housing, education and civic involvement.
